Horror movies to check...
The Curse of El Charro
About four college girls who are terrorized by the spirit of El Charro, an evil 18th-century land baron who slaughtered the family of a young woman who had spurned his romantic advances. One of the coeds is apparently a reincarnation of the old object of his desire, leading El Charro’s ghost to commit a bloody rampage.
The Cave
A group of expert cave explorers who go for a deep sea ocean dive to explore a cave. While on the expedition, the cave collapses, leaving the team stranded. By the time they are discovered, they have all mysteriously mutated into primeval beings.
Skeleton Key
The film centers on a caretaker (Hudson) working with an elderly couple in their New Orleans home, which happens to have mysterious goings-on.
The Nun
A torturous nun is murdered by a group of girls in a boarding school and 17-year-later her vengeful spirit decides to kill off the girls one by one. The remaining girls reunite and visit the old boarding school in attempt to somehow put a stop to the nun's madness.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
A true story, the case of Michel is well known among those who study exorcisms. In 1976, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of an 18-year-old German college freshman. During her exorcism, the young woman died, and a priest stood trial for causing her death.
The Fog
Set in a Northern California town near where a ship sank about 100 years earlier under mysterious circumstances in a thick, eerie fog. The ghosts of the deceased mariners return from their watery graves to seek revenge.

Summer of Helplessness
Seems that there is a contest in the movie industry to see who achieves the highest level of hopelessness and helplessness in the movies... War of the Worlds was not such a big deal in matters of script, but keeps you on the edge in matters of visual hopelessness. I mean, nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide! And then comes The Island, keeping you on the edge when you realize the Tylenol pill society of boys and girls is in reality a cloning factory... where the clones are coming alive on their own and so... they are as close to being a human as some humans I know...You feel for the clones, because they have nowhere to run to, nowhere to hide... But then... Ah! A good movie has all the elements, not just eye candy. What War of the Worlds failed to do was giving a heart to its storyline which was very straightforward and lame. The Island touches you deep inside, with a reality than even with eye candy, you come to accept and acknowledge.

"Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter"
A canadian movie, Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is turning some heads and making some people think... Cool, huh? The real superhero of all times!
Dracula as a Christian hero...
Was Dracula a Christian hero? Interesting article. And it is true. Yes, the original person in which Bram Stoker based his Dracula character was in high standard within the Church... A dream to some but a nightmare to others. You can also say, iron fist on velvet glove... well, not so velvetty, the impalements are nothing but barbaric but quite effective against the enemies...

Theme Parks rides' accidents
It is an interesting thing that no tragedies had happenned for a while within the Disney realms at Orlando, Fl… Yet after I went there on my so-called vacation getaway two children’s deaths have occurred: One on Mission:Space, the other in Tower of Terror. Seems like my black cloud left a small fragment of its evilness over there… It’s interesting, though… I loved Universal Studios, but their attractions are more adult-oriented and more adrenaline pumping… Yet it was these two Disney rides the ones that tolled for those lives… I think that parent’s common sense had a lot to do with that as well. Those are not the right rides for small children. Period. But… as my stepmom would say… Some people have “mojones atravesados en el cerebro”.
If you would like to check rides accidents at theme parks and the like, the stories behind the regulations and opinions from experts, go to Ride Accidents and amuse yourself with the raw facts.

On comic book prices...
Damn! I remember everything! I remember everything as if it happenned only yesterday! I was barely 12 and I once pay 75 cents for a comic book from DC... LOL I was baffled when I read the price tag for a similar comic book... on today's world... $2.99 Wow! I know, inflation and everything else... plus the years thank-u-very-much... but it is appaling! And kids still buy them as I did years ago... I remember I would spend my whole allowance on comic books... $10 box. In today's world such a feat would be an expense of $30 to $50 box, if you buy wisely. And the down part is that the art may be better, but the storylines are repetitive and dull... Whatever happenned to feeding the imagination? Oh, I forget, today's society is not about imagination but about instant visual gratification. Excuse my ignorant remark...
Marvel is a complete recycling of old storylines... DC Comics offers a better menu, some old, some new... The Vertigo line has some little delights, but it was a BIG mistake to finish off The Sandman. Between The sandman, Black Orchid, Swamp Thing and Detective Comics, plus the ocational appearances of the Demon, that was a delight...
The good old times... And I am not that old, mind ye, punks! Only 32 and counting. Ugh!

DC's Neverwhere
Read about this comic book series from the Vertigo line... Absolutely loved Door. Interesting plot, of course its a spin off of a story written by Neil Gaiman... He rules! The London undergorund where this new London breathes (an eerie London where the imagination can run wild, as characters reminiscent of the Sandman appear on every corner).

Silent Hill, Night Living Dead 5
Silent Hill is on filming process... the father of the missing girl was changed to mother, but everything else seems the same. Hopefully, the movie will keep the feeling of the game.
Night of the Living Dead 5 is in process as well. I guess this year is the Zombie revival!

New game, stopped
As usual, we find new players, and something big happens. Groundel was to throw Forgotten Realms 2nded and he did for 3 sessions. Then a personal cataclysm happenned, and the games halted. We dont know if they will happen again. Got to see Demo to give him his Draconomicon and Steven to get my Players Handbook back. The game will not be resumed anytime soon.

WELCOME to the HIVEzineLAIR
The Lair of the HiveQueen was my first website, and it has undergone many changes. One thing remains basic: black backgrounds and greenish things that are reminiscents of the Aliens trilogy. I've always loved Aliens, so... this is my way of letting the world know. Anyway, here I should list things of interest for sci-fi and fantasy fans, as well as things related to my other hobbies (horror, cats, dragons, roleplaying games). So... Until next.
